- As a community manager, analytics act as our compass, our teacher, our friend. When Facebook increased their insights, at first we all groaned at deciphering the insanely filled excel downloads, but now knowing every detail about our pages leaves us feeling empowered. - Once again we see that brands (or celebrities) underestimate the power of social media and that they really have no control over it. If you invite people to participate, they won’t automatically show up and play nice. If your house is not in order, you will learn the hard way what people really think of you.

- Day by day as an industry we are slowly stepping away from the roots of social media, chasing “likes”, traffic, and dollar signs. I’m not saying I don’t love making money off of social media- I LOVE MONEY, but I’m also a bit of a purist when it comes to social media marketing, and respect what it was founded on.
