- Social data is anything and everything collected from social network profiles and behaviors i.e. sharing activity, gender, interests, birthday, etc… And since social media is here to stay, accessing this information has never been more important.
- As a community manager, analytics act as our compass, our teacher, our friend. When Facebook increased their insights, at first we all groaned at deciphering the insanely filled excel downloads, but now knowing every detail about our pages leaves us feeling empowered. Thank you Facebook for giving these to us. For free. (Hint hint, nudge nudge Twitter).

- We've been monitoring the $18.6 billion dollar holiday - Mother's Day. Using the searchable Facebook Tab Directory, Track Social was able to pick up all Mother's Day-related Facebook campaigns, and analyze the results to see which brands were able to drive online traffic, generate buzz, increase engagement and boost audience numbers.
- As a social media platform, it is an epic fail. However, as far as SEO goes Google+ has greatly influenced the results of its searches. By logging into your Google+ account, any pages or anyone in your circles has a higher chance of popping up in the “related people/pages” bar when you search in Google.

- LinkedIn “Targeted Updates" permit marketers to target followers based on specific criteria including, industry, length of time at the place of employment, job description, company size and location. LinkedIn “Follower Statistics” provides users with access to a dashboard containing information about followers.
- ...if a social media campaign goes viral at the same time sales increase, does that mean that it is driving revenue? Maybe. Maybe not. If there was also an improvement in service levels at the same time, the additional sales could be generated by improved customer experiences. Without benchmarks, the increase would most likely (and possibly erroneously) be attributed solely to the social activity....
